Wired Differently Keynote Presenter Mike Paget says educators have to be emotionally healthy themselves to meet the challenge of working with emotionally and behaviorally challenging students.

Mike Paget has helped educators and professionals throughout North America work with various types of challenging students — including children and youth with emotional and behavioral disorders.  He is an innovator of effective approaches for working with students who are “wired differently” and of creative techniques for managing classroom behavior and student aggression, as well as for crisis intervention. He has co-authored High on the Spectrum: Asperger’s, High-Functioning Autism & Related Personalities, Aggressive and Violent Students and Defying the Defiance.  His keynote presentation is entitled “Wired for Success.” He will also present a breakout session entitled “The 3 R’s:  Reframing, Refueling and Relationships.”

The National Conference on Students Who Are Wired Differently, featuring keynote presenters Dr. Temple Grandin, Dan Habib and Mike Paget will focus on providing critical insights and best practices for reaching and teaching students with emotional and behavioral conditions. This conference is appropriate for regular classroom teachers, special education teachers, counselors, administrators and other professional educators in grades PK-12. Particular focus will be given to working with students in inclusive classroom settings.
